Own Medicine
So, I need to re-read my own advice from a couple of blogs ago (see ‘If at first you don’t succeed‘ from June). Time for a re-set. Thankfully charity governance is not always this hard work … although sometimes it is!
My Lake District event, mentioned in last month’s blog, didn’t end the way I hoped. I set off on a 105 mile run through the mountains, which I’ve completed several times before, although not for several years and, as the saying goes, I’ve been to bed since then. This time, I developed a balance issue about 2/3 of the way through and decided discretion was the better part of blundering on regardless, given the challenges I knew the rest of the course still had in store. So I stopped.
Oh well, the hills will still be there another day and so will I, hopefully running over them. 67 miles of journey is still a long way from me learning how to walk again after an accident 3 years ago, so I’m calling it a win. Or at least a glad to be alive day.
There you go, there’s recalibration for you 👊
