Special, not special
Special, not special. It’s not rocket science. We know trustees must govern to ensure their charities follow rules. So, how is this done and failure avoided?
I can guide you in leading your charity.
I help trustees and senior leaders navigate their charity's major challenges, improve decision making and optimise governance effectiveness
The concept of charity is as old as communities themselves; however, the way charities are governed changes all the time. The best charity leaders adapt to these developments, ensuring their charity remains effective in delivering the benefits needed.
I have a good deal of experience responding to the ever changing environment for charities, advising trustees and senior leaders in this. Most of my career of over 30 years has been spent as a charity lawyer. I’ve also served as a trustee, fundraiser and volunteer for a number of charities, so I understand the challenges from these perspectives too.
I’ve written and spoken widely for the sector, delivered countless hours of training, coaching and mentoring, and devised sector-wide governance teaching materials.
My motivation in all this is simply to help people. The very business of charities is helping people, so I derive great satisfaction by supporting good governance, enabling charities to deliver that help.
I work both in my own right and with In The Round, a team with comprehensive and varied experience to assist Third Sector organisations. See: Charity Consultancy | In The Round Advisors Ltd
